So when Shevaun Joy and Lisa Manditsch decided to open a travel agency in Silsden, they could think of no better name for their business than Destination...With more than 26 years' travel agency experience between them, gained as colleagues in the same company, they are fully qualified and know the travel industry inside out.

Both joined Specialist Travel's branch in Kirkgate, Silsden, when they left school, though at different times. Specialist Travel closed the Silsden branch and the duo have taken over the lease of the premises.

Shevaun, now aged 31, lives in Cross Hills; she attended Holy Family School while Lisa, 28, who lives in Glusburn, went to South Craven school before studying travel at Bradford College.

Because they realise that running their own business will be more challenging than working in one, they sought professional advice- and didn't have far to travel.

Jobcentre Plus recommended them to contact Airedale Enterprise Services, Where Business counsellor Phil Harrison, took them under his wing.

"Phil helped us with our business planning, guided us through VAT registration and told us about Kickstart professional services.

This enabled us to have stationery designed and printed and a website developed free of charge,"says Shevaun.

She added:"Fortunately, many of our former customers, learning that we planned to re-open the agency under a new name, have delayed booking their holidays until we open our doors, which we plan to do in the near future.With such loyal customers, whose travel requirements and preferences we know so well, we are confident of success."
